On Saturday Marcht he 14th at 7.00 pm, at CAM_Casoria Contemporary Art Museum, the fourth edition of “Magmart_Video under Volcano”, International Festival of videoart curated by Antonio Manfredi and Enrico Tomaselli will take place. On the opening night the selected videos – among more than 200 participating – will be projected at Casoria museum. Every year this festival confirms as necessary for worldwide videoartists sending sketched, shot and edited material with the many executive techniques. The jury of experts – made up of Antonio Manfredi, CAM director, Enrico Tommaselli, founder and artistic director of the Festival, Giuseppe De Marco,  videoartist and founder of Mediavox, Luca Magnoni, journalist, founder of Hydrogen and creative director of NinjaLAB – evaluates through the web according to technical-artistic criteria. In order to guarantee the vote fairness the commission judges on-line: watching the videos and using the secret vote system, infact. The sum of the votes leads to the selection of thirty winners which works become part of the CAM museum permanent collection. The videos of this Festival edition face issues and subjects someway new and a considerable decrease of graphic animation and increase of shot products, evidencing a diffusion of cameras. Themes range from concrete observation to oneiric irreality. Videos keep on being the visual expression of immaginary worlds, of parallel situations using common languages, close to reportage or just denial of reality and stressing of digital effects. The weak border separating these traces of objectivity in coloured and unshapen immateriality is tyhe power of this artistic expression. The several interpretation levels allow reflections on the contemporary and lead the viewer before the aesthetic artificial as fluent thought. The game of images looks beaten by frantic times and superimposition of icons and flashing lights, while otherwise the mediated and lazy flow of events, figures and narrative progress causes bewilderment and perturbation. Still fascinating the medium, the power of technological self-referral immerging in the virtual by relating the maschine to the human. On the opening night the event will be live broadcasted on the Festival website (www.magmart.it).
