Skopje, Macedonia (FYROM) 13/05/1974. “I express my fascination of the most recent global political (and religious I would say) conflict of the modern era – American politics vs. “International terrorism” or more precisely – the Islamic fundamentalism. I find both sides radically passionate about their ideals - Americans tend to establish themselves as global “super heros”. They create conflicts in which later they appoint themselves as saviours (interpreted in blood & sanitary napkins). On the opposite side, there is the phenomenon of the Islam fundamentalism – and the tenacity of its purpose. Seduced by the ideals, unwavering followers even sacrifice their own lives by destroying their bodies in thousands pieces…this sacrifice of human life is more scary and fascinating than any other superior weapon…. Such extreme passion and radical ideals reminds us on the fragility of the civilization and the imperfection of the human kind. The temptations are still here…even after thousands and thousands years of evolution”. (Gordana Vrencoska)
